Perfection Lumiere Velvet Review

imageI was passing through the duty free in Dublin a couple of weeks ago and as per usual a purchase was made. This time it was the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet.
First of all the packaging is the same as the Vitalumiere Aqua small, light and really travel friendly and as with all Chanel foundations it smells amazing, however if your not into heavily scented fragrances you may not like it.
Chanel describes it as " lightweight and oil-free". It has a broad spectrum SPF15 which is great for the winter but in summer you'd still need to use a higher SPF.
It has an incredibly lightweight texture and a velvet finish as the name suggests. It applies to the skin beautifully and has a real silky feel to it. You don't feel like you're wearing foundation and I personally love this. I apply it with my real techniques buffing brush but you can easily just use your hands which works just as good. Just remember to give a good shake before using it.
Chanel call this a long wear foundation and I would have to agree due to the fact that it's oil free but I find that I need to touch up after about 8 hours as with most foundations.
So how does it compare to Vitalumiere Aqua?? Well they are pretty much the same foundation only Perfection Lumiere Velvet is for oiler skins. Personally I prefer Perfection Lumiere Velvet as it lasts much better on my skin but I get oily in my t-zone. If you have drier skin Vitalumiere Aqua would be a better match.
In conclusion I really like this foundation it's a great every day foundation. It comes in 9 shades and is priced at €36.50 in Sephora
